Stretcher bars

Stretcher bars in 2 and 4cm thickness for stretch mounting of canvas.

2 + 2 stretcher bars are assembled to form a complete stretcher frame.

So if your final canvas is to be 30x40cm, then youl'll need:

  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 30 cm.
  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 40 cm.

If ONE of the side are to be 80cm or larger, a transverse bar should be added.

Say, if you are aiming for a 60x90 cm painting, you should use:

  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 60 cm.
  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 90 cm.
  • 1 pcs transverse bar in 60 cm (note, that the length of the transverse bar is the SHORTER length of the stretcher frame).

If BOTH sides are to be 80 cm or above, two "cross bars" should be used.

For instance, to make a stretcher frame in 80x100 cm, you should use:

  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 80 cm.
  • 2 pcs stretcher bars in 100 cm.
  • 1 pcs cross bar in 80 cm.
  • 1 pcs cross bar in 100 cm.
